The 2016 Philadelphia Clef Club Jazz Award Male Vocalist of the Year - Whether with a small group or a big band, Michael Andrews will enchant you with his velvety smooth bass-baritone voice. He is often compared to the likes of Johnny Hartman, Arthur Prysock & Joe Williams.  He sings a wide variety of music including Standards, R & B, Spirituals, Jazz and Show tunes. Michael lives in the Philadelphia area and works with some of the top jazz musicians on the East Coast.  

He has performed at venues such as South Jazz Kitchen (Philadelphia), The Priory (Newark, NJ), Kelsey's (Atlantic City), The Claridge (AC) as part of The Chickenbone Beach Jazz Series. The SugarHouse Casino (Philadelphia),

The Volver and Prime Rib Restaurants as part of the Jazz It Up Philly Jazz Series, and LaRose Jazz Supper Club.

 

He has performed as a feature artist with Big Bands such as:

The Midnight Sun Orchestra

The Jazz Lobsters Big Band

The Clef Club Community Big Band

Some of his most memorable performances include The Washington National Cathedral (Washington, DC), The Madame C. J. Walker House (Indianapolis, IN) The Coconut Grove (Phillipines), The Virginia Opera House, The Philadelphia Clef Club, Dante Hall (Atlantic City), Mohonk Mountain House (the Catskills, NY) and appearing on NBC's 10 Show in Philadelphia as a musical guest with a small combo.
